Technology sucks!

I just voted, well I think I voted??? The scantron style voting machine
stopped working at 1:30. We had to stuff our ballots in a slot on the side
of the machine. The women that were working there didn't really know what
to do. A women was on a cell phone trying to get help, and the person on
the other side on the line kept telling her to keep trying to put ballots
in the machine. The machine was spitting them out and saying that it was
a possible folded ballot and to try again. They tried about 30 ballots,
and all they would get was errors. It was odd that the machine stopped right
at 1:30. There has to be a better way.

I also think the people behind the machines are suspect. Can you say fix?

It's not just here in Michigan.

I called my local party and told them to get someone over there to over see
how they were handling the situation. With years of good reason, I don't
trust the system or the people behind the systems.

Hey james, I voted in Macomb Twonship, and they were using the paper system.
It went very smooth. No glitches at all..

You situation sounds like some "hanky panky"..

Vary ugly! I heard on the news earlier tonight that they found a machine
that would only vote for Democrats. Don't know if that is true, but that
would certainly be unfair and undemocratic if that went unchecked.

James, that's disturbing. Sounds like possible disenfranchisement.

One way to help on a national level is to report voting problems here:

http://reportvotingproblems.org/

And report it to your state's election officials.

Cheers,

It matters a lot. Collecting reports of voting failures creates a record
that helps support and direct much needed improvements.

Without that record, the inertia of even a failing system is difficult
to overcome, and things may continue to get worse.

I got the joke, rick. If they did use Macs, they wouldn't crash and they
would be harder to hack, but of corse, not impossible.
