I posted this at the Steiny forum, but no replies yet. Hoping one of you
guys who has been on C4 for a while can suss out what I may have done
wrong. I just got C4 and it is throwing me for a loop this time. I could
not find a thing in the manual on these.

Somehow overnight I have 2 new problems.

1) I seem to have lost all my C4 synth settings. Before, they would all
be there when I wanted to change a sound in Halion or any of the Cubase
synths. Now it just shows the Browser and Filter with a tree of content
folders, but I cannot figure out how to access the content.

2) Now when I open a synth with multiple outputs, it only gives me 1
output in the mixer even though the synth is set for multiple outs. I am
not using instrument tracks. These are synths I added to the VSTi synth
rack. When I first installed it, it did not have this problem. I have
tried adding new synths to projects that have multiple outs on synths
already, and it only gives the first output.

I have already tried reinstalling, hoping it would go back to the way it
was behaving originally, but the problems persisted.

I'd like to go to 3 but I was never on 3. I went from SX to C4 (I was
using Samplitude for the past several years.)

If I had a 3 disk I could use it with my dongle, but I don't got it.

Bill - not sure about 1). Without looking at C4 I can't say if there's a
browser trick that might be alluding you, but if it's a case of the folders
appearing to be empty, you could try removing the prefs (I think they are
still under the user application data folder for Cubase - they were just xml
files in previous versions - moving them and restarting Cubase would often
clear up any corruptions and get you back up and running easily - even after
putting some of the prefs, such as workspaces/layouts, key commands, etc
back).

With 2), just go to the left (I think) of the VSTi insert in the rack and
there is a small icon with a dropdown menu to select which outputs you want
to activate. The default is a single stereo out, but you can now
enable/disable only the outs you want on any VSTi rather than littering the
mixer with every available out.

Regards,
Dedric
