TO PARIS USERGROUP 9/16/08
I’ve used Paris 3.0 with my Mac G4 (OS 9.2) to record songs that I would
now like to burn to CD. For this purpose I years ago bought Adaptec Jam 2.5
which works great with my system except for one thing: Jam 2.5 doesn’t recognize
my internal CD writer. (Jam 2.5 was apparently designed only to work with
external SCSI writers.) In the hopes of updating Jam so that it would recognize
the internal writer, I've downloaded Jam 2.6 but the downloaded file (jam_262_up.hqx)
doesn't seem to do anything (perhaps I’m not doing with it what I should—I
don’t know).
What are my options? They seem to me to be:
1. Figure out another way to get Jam to recognize the internal writer.
2. Find and connect a SCSI external writer to my computer and see if Jam
recognizes it.
3. Obtain some other CD writing software to replace Jam (but that would still
be compatible with my Mac OS 9.2)
Any thoughts on any of the above?
Many thanks,
Richard
