BTW, David, are you still doing any "final" mixing in Paris in order to
impart that special flavor? I don't know what kind of material you
usually do which would probably affect your decision making in that
department. And are you in the bay area?
To be quite honest, I'm no pro mixer and need one for a documentary I'm
scoring. Ordinarily I would and could do it myself and be just fine.
However, I want to take this to a different level for "my reel". Do
you know of anyone around here, or there, that's Paris savvy and really
good? What about you?

:-) unless it's a really big corner!
We have a bit of a DJ-esque set-up here. I am currently tracking to
Nuendo (and soon PTHD) and using Paris as stem summing for 44/48
sessions. Any of the 96K stuff is mixed in the respective program
(not that I have actually done any 96K stuff yet). I fond that
summing in Paris helps glue the mix together. Once we get HD in the
fray things may change somewhat.

Ha... no kidding.
I've got to make a change, from Logic 5.5 (pc), to something else. Am
leaning towards Nuendo and would be
doing the same thing as you in Paris. Has Nuendo been relatively
painless? If I do jump it won't be until Nuendo 4
comes out and the early adopters have done their fair share of the
"beta" testing. Good luck with PTHD.

Curious man... why wouldn't you still use Paris to glue using A/D/A and the
Paris bus as a master insert plug on a 96k rig?

I am actually really digging N3... if it weren't for our
clients walking away because we don't have PT, I would stay
with Nuendo.

Well... we do have 32 analog ins on Paris... so I could
still sum the stems that way! :-) If it ever comes up I'll
give it a go.

Bad to hear clients continue to fall for the digi thing. Awfully glad I
