Just an FYI to y'all, I upgraded to Live 6 as part of the process of reinstalling
everything on my main audio box. Ableton isn't reinventing the wheel with
every release these days (like they for versions 1-3) but it's definitely
a 'worth the money' upgrade. A few very nice new effects, multi-processor/core
support, some very nice file handling functions (the best one being 'render
each individual track'), and instrument/effect 'racks' which are a bunch
of sounds and/or effects that can be added to a track or a bus all at once.
I'm going to hold off buying any more new hardware/software until I decide
about the Pulsar card (OK, that's a lie, I'm going to buy the UAD Space Echo
but that's it) so I'll pass on the Ableton FM synth for now, but the 6.0
software is worth the upgrade, IMHO.
