Well, my Lexicon PCM 91 quit passing signal reliably last night. After
troubleshooting it, my RME ADI-DD, my harness from the ADI4-DD to the
outboard processors and putting in calls to Morgan, CBI and Synthax, I found
the problem. The WC cable that was feeding the ADI8-DD from the GenX-6 that
is distributing WC from my Mytek clock was full of punctures. Either there's
bad studiocat behaviour going on or a bad mouse or other vermin that the bad
studiocat should be attending to. This is, by far, one of the wierdest
studio occurrences I've had yet. This was a very expensive Zaolla 75 ohm WC
cable and I would have definitely noticed if it would have been punctured
prior to my installing it.

This means your setup is still to complicated. Sell half and see how it works.
Rinse and repeat. hehe

Just play the Zeppelin Immigrant's Song from Zep3 at 105 db. Ghost hate that
and leave permanently.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green,
Can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war.
We are your overlords.
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
So now youd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day
Despite of all your losing.

Is it bad that I have no idea what you're talking about? :)

Ok......hmmmm......letsee..........

PCM 91 = outboard reverb processor

RME ADI4-DD=ADAT to AES format converter which allows 4 x devices with AES
inputs and outputs to interface with the optical ports on an audio card

harness=the cabling that attaches the AES devices to the RME ADI4-DD

GENX-6=module that takes a word clock signal from another device, spiits it
6 ways and then feeds it to six different devices

Zaolla 75ohm WC cable=a pretty darned expensive piece of silver wire covered
with rubber and having BNC connectors on either end to connect to other
devices with similar connectors.

bad studiocat=little grey horror who likes to leave the carcasses of dead
rodents in my chair as a present upon occasion.

hmmm.....not sure if this is clear even now after looking at it.

;o)

Uh yeah, thanks for clearing that up. :)

Sarah

PS: Does your bad studiocat leave the rodents in good condition, aside from
being dead? My cat leaves them on my front doormat looking completely
undamaged. I think she just plays with them til they die of fright. I
thought about saving them last winter and making an all mouse nativity
scene, or maybe mouse Santa and reindeer.

My old cat would go right under the console and start biting my cables when
she was pissed at me.

bad studio cat is messy........bits and pieces everywhere.....plus hairballs
and other regurtgitated stuff. She's of the opinion that whatever is offered
should be equally appreciated........because she's a cat.
