that they've got much less clean output capabilities at the top of their
range but more input headroom than some other much more expensive preamps so
using them with high output mics gets some very good results.

I've been thinking about getting one of those old TL Audio tube front ends
that they used to make for DAWs and strapping it across the insert outs of
my 1402 to give it a bit of personality. these come up on EBay from time to
time and might dress up a Mackie nic

>If you are plugging a balanced cable into an unbalanced input, you are
probably missing the "-" connection (pin 3 on an XLR). Wire up a
special cable tying pins 1 and 3 together at the sleeve on the 1/4"
end, and connect pin 2 straight to the tip on the 1/4". You will lose
6 dB, but the sound should be fine.

*NOTE* if this is a feed "directly" from a tube circuit, do not do
this without first going through a transformer to isolate the output
circuitry from the input of the next device.

I try to answer about my configuration.

1. PC's are connected via CAT5 cable
2.Becuase I had some problems at 1000 speed I lowered both lan cards at 100
speed and now is working.
3. Speed is very slow, reminds me of USB1.1
needs around 6 minutes to transfer a 734 MB wavefile.
4.On Me I have installed Client for Microsoft Networks.
TCP/IP and File and printer sharing and of course Planet ENW 9606 Gigabit
card
On XP pc I have
Client for microsoft networks
File anprinter sharing
Qos Packet scheduler
TCP/IP
Same cable works fine with two XP PC's...
Thank you
Dimitrios
