I'm gonna need 12 stereo channels about 15 feet long for line level signals.
180 feet times $2.20 a foot for mogami would be OUCH ! Are there any other
good cables and connectors I can buy like maybe I could buy 2 8 conductor
(trs) cables for $50 a piece ? hmmm

And also, for line level signals is mic cable better quality than console
audio cable?

Individual runs of Belden 1696A will give better crosstalk results than snakes.

Gene......do you not use snakes in your studio? 99% of my cabling is Mogami
sankes and I'm noticing no crosstalk at all. Am I missing something here?

I also use Mogami snakes. Its good cable and the snakes give a neat appearance
and are convenient�but even though most studios use snakes, you still get
better x-talk with individual pairs. You never notice the crosstalk. It is
typically 80-90 db down in cable, but you wont find any top classical engineers
using snakes. You only hear a difference if you can do a direct a/b. I try
to run individual high-end cable for critical recordings. I just don�t do
many critical recordings these days. If your track includes drum samples
and loops, it�s a little silly to be sweating cable nuances, but I would
stay away from cheap snakes at all costs.

of good quality?

I prefer baby snakes. They live by a code, that is usually SMPTE!

If this is to be installed, perhaps canare or mogami balanced hook-up wire.
I'd steer clear of the belden.
