Deej, does the 15k excitment come across as something like almost
an "air-band" kind of boost?
Hard to describe really unless you hear it. It's almost like adding
additional width to the soundstage while rolling off the top end. I know
that sorta' describes what some compressors do, but the Cubase summing bus,
to my ears, sounds compressed and harsh, lacking clarity, without some
pretty major gainstaging work done at many levels. The 5042 takes that
cluttered sounding harshness right out of the equation and the bus less
crowded/compressed when this is strapped across it.
