Back in 1984 I was doing a show in L.A. and a guy turned me on to Plasma speakers,
they were 10K a piece. They were speaker cabinets that had no speaker cones,
they used gas and an electric arc to create a sound pressure wave.

The ones I saw at that time are no longer made, but here is the info now.
