About 4 months ago i had some water damage in my house and in the studio.

luckily, none of my important gear was damaged.

however, my paris computer is dead. i don't know if its the video card,
processor or memory. i removed all the eds cards and audio drives... and i
have swapped out power supplies. it turns on but i can't even get to the
bios.

i have reset cmos. i have installed a duplicate used mobo.

it just figures that i have to recall a mix and turn it in by wednesday,
next week.

its a very simple recall... i have to replace an old vocal with a new vocal.
very easy to do.... EXCEPT... i don't have paris up and running.

is there anyone is nashville who might be able to help? maybe someone has
another matrox video card i could try in the box... maybe another stick of
this old memory... ddr pc2700... or maybe an old XP2600 processor laying
around. or maybe i could borrow someone's paris system for a few hours.

i could order those.... if i can a processor on ebay that can be here
monday... but i just don't know exactly what the problem is.

some of that sounds like alot to ask i know. but i would appreciate any
help.

thanks.

Hey Jeremy,

I would happily import your project into my rig and swap and bounce the
tracks for you - if you wanted to go that route.... you'd just need to shoot
me a copy of it via cdrom or dvdrom. I'm out of town until Monday, but you
are welcome to call if you need. My number is on my site - carlamburn.com

good luck,
-Carl

My advice... run down to Best Buy or CompUSA and snag the lowest-
end $300 E-Machines PC you can find, load a different OS on it
(whichever one you were running Paris on) to get through this one
project, then diagnose the other PC later, sell the E-Machines
PC as nearly-new for a hundred-dollar loss afterwards & you can
recoup some of the $. Worth it to keep a client, if you're doing
this for money.

If you're NOT doing it for money, then the client can wait 'til
you figure it out, whether that's by this wednesday or twelve
wednesdays from now.

Nice offer from Deej, but you could install everything he sends
you & STILL not have a working PC; or I could overnight you my
Paris PC - which I'd be happy to do if you're paying for
shipping - only for you to find out that the problem is your
monitor.

Neil

How about Chris Latham or Sandy Tipping? Both
Paris users--also, try Dave Latto at Quad Studios,
I'm sure he still has a system up and running...

thanks Neil and Carl.

Carl- i actually use Nuendo to mix in and then use some stuff in Paris
(no-llimit and eq)... i send groups to paris from nuendo and bounce it in
Paris... so i cant just send it to you on DVD. thanks for the offer though.

Neil- its not the monitor. i have a couple here that i have tried. thanks
for the ideas and the offer.

thanks guys.

Hey Jeremy,

I'm still here. It was the other guy (that crazy German) who moved.
Just hit the NG first time in a few days.
I'll happily let you use my system, it's in town and I'll be down near
Brentwood tomorrow.
Three cards / WinME.

Call me - 615-299-9107.

Sandy

Hey Jeremy,
I'm pretty tied down tomorrow, but if you'd like to get together Tuesday at
the office, we could pull your mix up there. Give me a call... office
742-8081 or cell 347-2025.
