Just wondering if anybody is doing this.
My Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra, while great in theory, fast, appears to have a borderline
hardware fault, and I'm looking to find something else to drive my Paris
box. I have returned the board twice now and each time I get back a board
with something else wrong with it. It seems that since runs of the board
have finished they are simply sorting through the returned rubbish and shipping
out other boards with minor faults. Suffice to say for the price of another
MB I'm willing to do another upgrade and save myself the worries.
I'm currently seriously considering this board:
http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/motherboard_detail.asp x?ID=en-us0000013
It has four PCI slots (I'm currently only using two anyhow, so that leaves
me two for future expansion) as well as a PCI-E 16X for graphics and a pair
of PCI-E 1x. This would be handy for me as I really only run one box for
the most part for both Paris and general purpose use (I mean most of what
I do is just work on Paris anyhow...).
This board is dirt cheap ($65 Australian) so I've got little to lose by trying
one...
I figure we're in the dying days of Paris compatible motherboards, so I'd
better by getting one while the getting is good...
Cheers,
Kim.
