The next step for Gene is to experiment with is passive analog mixing.
I am still searching for the best way to integrate the “Best of Paris” sound
with high samplerate recordings without suffering the collapse of the sound
field.
Next up is building a passive mixing array followed by my GTQ2 pre and Portico
Compressor/Limiter.
This may be a few weeks off, but I have high hopes that this will help close
the gap between what I hear in my head and what I get.
The new Korg MR-1000 1-bit recorder is the likely 2-track but its not available
yet.
I’m also going to take a look at the new Fairlight system.
I will post about it as things progress.
I know, I know … I all winds up as MP3 anyway.
