Can't Stream Data fast enough [message #101091]

Hello. I lost my audio drive on a PARIS system that I have been using without
trouble for the past five years. Since I have replaced the audio drive, I'm
unable to playback audio files.

I get the "Can't Stream Data fast enough" error message that says to get
a faster drive.

I'm on an AMD 2 gigahertz processor with 512 MB of RAM, running on Windows
ME. This is a 4-EDS card system. I have an 80 gig WD drive for the system
and a 320 gig drive for audio. This system has played back 64 tracks without
a hiccup in the past. This system is very similar to one DJ was using a few
years back.

The new drive is a WD 7200 RPM Caviar Blue, 320 GB.

I've tried all possible variations in the PARIS configuration menu, and tweeked
the vcache in Windows' configuration to vcache min and max of 8192. I've
gone through the 16 page collection of configuration tips from Steve Dellamagioria's
PARIS TIPS. Still getting the message. I get a few seconds of playback,
then it stutters and stalls. I can tell it's going to stall because the meters
on the mixer display look jerky just before it stalls with the error message.

When I look in ME's device manager, under Performance, File System, there
is a message about "Compatibility-mode paging reduces overall system performance."
and "Drive C: using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system" as well as "Drive
D: using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system".

I don't know if those messages are normal or the cause of my system becoming
unusable.

I'm not a guru when it comes to computers. I'm pretty adept at using PARIS
when the system is working properly. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Any help would be appreciated.
