Okay forgive the dumb question but the asio driver works with any asio compatible software? Ive seen that it works with reaper but what about something like ableton live for example?

also, if you were to use it with a d.a.w. like reaper is it possible to have access to the ensoniq plugins somehow?

also.. if you were using another daw like reaper, would you lose
the mix bus algorithms or does that come from the paris dsp on the cards?

The best person to answer this would be Mike but from my limited testing the answer to both the plugins and mix bus questions is no. As for running Abelton, I don't see why not.

mike's new windows 7/multicore driver is the asio driver as well correct?

I believe it's a completely separate driver but don't quote me on that...
