I just finished a rush session. They needed 10 copies of the CD, and I suggested
that we check it out in the car before commiting to 10 copies. The NS10s
were bang on. No tweaking needed. Reverb levels, vocal levels, eq, everything
- bang on - and bang on despite the car system sounding very different. These
things are worth their weight in gold.

I was also able to fix a problem in the accoustic guitar track that they
brought with them. I could hear the problem at 1k immediately. Didn't even
need to sweep the eq.

These represent the best money I have ever spent.

I'm starting to become a true believer in these too. Now that I'm used to
them, I'm using them nearfield (with a subwoofer) as my primary monitors and
using my NHT's midfield as a safety net. I'm also really impressed with the
Alesis Matica 900 power amp that is driving these (270 WPC into 8 ohms).
Very accurate sounding but smooth with no audible distortion at higher dB
levels than I'll ever use for mixing.

Deej, does the Alesis have fans? I'm looking for something to power my NS10's
that I recently got, but don't have a machine room, so it would have to be
quiet.

It has a fan, but a very quiet one that only kicks in when necessary.

Mine is right under my mix position. I don't hear it at all. Here's an SOS
review. I concur with what is said at the end of the article where it talks
about (lack of) fan noise. Noise is not an issue with mine.

These things are extremely heavy. Mine feels as heavy as my Furman IT 1210
which is around 60 lbs. That a lot for a 2u unit.

Jimmy, something about the source of the wood pulp used in the woofer cone
is no longer available. Here's the full article. The MSP/SW10 series is
supposed to replace them.

Supposed to and actually do are not the same things in this case. I've
had/have both. Love my little MSP's, but the NS10 they are not even remotely
like for what the NS was loved for.
