Hey all - I'm tooling up to make some custom furniture for my setup
this winter. Over the years I've seen some very cool ideas here for
custom PARIS furniture, and I was wondering if anyone had any pics or
plans they'd be interested in sharing. I want to go "next generation"
with the space, completely dispensing with mixer and using the PARIS
rig for routing, monitoring etc. My needs may expand somewhat but I
can't see going to a huge number more tracks than I'd have (in my
limited space I'd be more likely to get another EDS for more internal
processing than, say, more i/o - although a third C16 might eventually
be an option).

Basically - two 19" monitors, keyboard/mouse, 2 C16s (possibly leaving
room to expand to a third), keyboard controller. Fingertip access to
say 10-16 RU worth of gear. No need to provide for MECs or CPUs etc -
they'll be tucked away in a nearby machine cupboard (I'm definitely
panel-mounting some USB and Firewire jacks for access from the desktop
though). I want to keep the width from getting out of hand because the
space is only 11.5' across and I don't want to block access to the
machine space or back of the desk.

I've started off by buying some basic desk plans from here to get
oriented - http://plans.thefrankes.com/racks/ Although they'd
certainly do in a pinch "as is", I'm looking at ways of better
customizing the furniture for PARIS functionality and ergonomics, and
(hey, may as well start with the wish list and pare it down from that)
perhaps giving it more of an "Argosy" kind of vibe - maybe something a
bit like the Aura 260-LR in this link (caution, pdf) -
http://www.argosyconsole.com/documentation/AURA260_CutSheet. pdf

Anyway, interested in what other folks have done, and what you've found
works! Anyone still got functioning links to any of the previous PARIS
furniture sites? This might be Wiki material as well.

- Kerry

PS: the speakers will be on separate stands.
