I'm getting back into Paris and have been using my old AMD2100 for a recording project that I'm working on. To be honest, while it works amazingly well considering its age, it is pretty slow. Overviews are drawn slowly, and the overall experience is not as 'snappy' as I'd like.

I'd like to pick up Mike Audet's new driver and a good mobo+processor to go along with it. What should I watch out for as far as incompatibilities go?

Here's what I've been thinking of:
- Intel quad core i7 CPU
-4GB of Ram
- Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R motherboard ( reviewed here http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2463 )
- Memoright GT 16GB solid state drive (for Windows XP)
- 300 GB WD Velociraptor

So here are my pointed questions:

1) Is there any reason to suspect that Paris, and Mike Audets won't work on the new Intel processors?
2) What PCI slot specs are needed for the EDS cards to be happy? What should I be on the lookout for?
