Hi folks. You may have noticed some Disruptions In The Force here on the forums lately; I've just completed an upgrade to FUDForum 2.8.1 RC1 in the hopes that some of the new tools might have helped track down a couple of nagging issues (which they did).
There are some new features to tell you about.
First up is the Bookmarks feature. You can now create a library of bookmarks to NG topics you want to keep track of - tips, tricks, how-tos, configuration or mobo info, or whatever else you'd like. Note that this is in addition to the "subscription" feature where you receive notifications of threads you have posted or otherwise "subscribed" to. Just click the "Bookmark topic" text at the top of a thread and it'll be added to your list of bookmarks; to look at your bookmarks, find the Bookmarks tab in your Control Panel.
Next up is the ability to minimize or maximize posts in the message view - just click on the sign to the left of the post's title to toggle its minimized/maximized status.
The other changes are under the hood, but significant. Support has been introduced for plugins so the system can be extended by users; a database management function has been added that will make things much easier, bugs have been squashed, code has been streamlined - it's all good stuff. Two things in closing:
1) I don't know what's up with the NG at the moment - here's hoping this will be a brief absence, and
2) my most profound apologies for the garbled, incoherent state of some of the archived posts. The most efficient way to fix this is to wait until the NG comes back up for long enough to do a resync. Thanks for your indulgence in bearing with the mess until then.

Hi all. Just announcing another forum upgrade, this time to 2.8.1 full release.
Lots of new features and upgrades in this one, most of which would seriously bore any normal human (as for me, I think it's great - my job's getting easier).
