How do I reduce the number of EDS cards and still have my projects open? [message #86785] Sat, 16 June 2007 22:53 Go to next message

I currently have 3 EDS cards and want to reduce to 2 as well as remove an
8in card (trying to pair down the parts of my system that I don't use). I
have tried a couple different configurations of reducing cards, 1 card and 2
cards. I have also tried saving a new project (while three cards are
installed) that deletes the third submix. I get the same error regardless
of whether I open the default project or another project that works with 3
cards:

An error has occurred whil reading the "Default Project" for a new project.
A new empty project will be created instead. There are not enough
resources.

Unhandled Exception: c0000005
At Address: 0048c425

Any suggestions, or am I stuck with 3 cards in my system if I want to read
all my old project files.

Thanks in advance,
John

Have you deleted or renamed the default project in your Paris directory?

No. However, the main issue is I cannot open any of my projects i.e. if I
start PARIS via clicking on any project, I get the same error.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any way... this perhaps is one of the many
glitches that was suppose to be fixed, but never happened. You may have to
rebuild the projects from scratch... Sorry... ~ Ed

John,
Always start from your default project. Resave your default project with =
the new=20
hardware configuration. That should smooth things out. Start from =
there then=20
open older projects.

I hope this works. It does for me when adding hardware to the system.
Good luck,
Tom

Thanks Jeff and Tom.

Deleting the default project allowed PARIS to launch and from there I could
get into my projects.
