Awesome stuff. Reminds me a lot of this guy - www.guthrietrapp.com - the
KING of that style in my book. Caught him live on an off-night in DT
n-ville a few months back. He did this stuff for 30 minutes non-stop and
never played the same riff twice.

Great link..What I love most about it is that thay are soloing just ona "CLEAN"
settings on their perspective amps..No Distortion to "Hide Behind".. Just
like in Jazz guitar playing, Swinging, Country blues picking is a "sink or
swim" affair..

I love it. Always have since I heard Lester & Earl.

Though I was a big Eagles fan I never really used to pay that much attention
to country music until I was surfing the radio channels sometime back in the
early 90's and heard this instrumental just kicking butt. Turned out to be
Vince Gill ( Liza Jane). I still don't listen to *nouveau* Nashville country
really at all, but I have come to love this kind of freeform pickin stuff.
Like you said, it's sink or swim, like jazz improvization. One of my
neighbors (and session players) is a guy named Gary Cook. He's in the same
league with these guys (and knows them) and I've seen him do similar things
to this on an acoustic guitar.

Bitchin' music!

Hey, I've got a new test for great music. If yer sittin' here lookin'
at the computer, pissed off cuz yer teenager mouthed off to you
again and hit her little sister too,(aforementioned teenager is out
mowing the lawn right now heh heh) and you feel pretty dang good
anyway, after the song goes by,

then it's GREAT music.

This one passed with perfect A's.
