In the Cubase 4 manual, there is some confusing mumbo jumbo about
creating/associating midi devices with external FX processors. the wording
would lead one to believe that it is necessary to either or create or
associate a midi device with an external fx processor in order for Cubase 4
to ping for hardware latency in order to for delay compensation to be
measured. WTF??? Sorry, but my Distressor doesn't seem to have a midi port.
My reverbs do, but they are interfaced digitally and there is no audible
delay with them anyway. Is this some kind of bullshit specifically placed in
the Cubase 4 manual because they know I hate jacking around with midi and
they are monitoring all of my posts on the internet, just waiting for me to
post about this so they can get a good laugh?

where's my coffee ??? I need something to wash down my meds!!!

Unless v4 is different than v3, you do not HAVE to associate
anything MIDI with external EFX it's just an option if you have
any EFX with MIDI that can allow you to change the program or
parameters, or whatever on the fly, automatically.

The truth is Deej, Steinberg has in it's employ, mind readers who knew well
in advance of the final draft of the Cubase 4 manual that you were going to
abandon Franken-paris and jump onto the Cubase bandwagon.

Knowing your propensity for over thinking, out manipulating and generally
overstressing your Franken-paris rig the people at Steinberg felt it was
important to give you a new sense of purpose with their latest
endeavor...Cubase 4.

Unfortunately the news of your future move to Cubase came to late to encrypt
Deejisms into the actual program as the system's development was too far
along to allow for wholesale changes within the application which would be
needed to create a suitable environment for you so they did the next best
thing.

Fucked with the manual

Merry Christmas from all at Steinberg

Hi DJ,
That function is only for effect processors that have midi
controllability.like a TC Finalizer.
Otherwise you ignore the the midi port options and use it like it is a
normal external plugin effect.

Sorry Deej, no one else needs to single you out and humiliate you. You
manage that quite well on your own. ;-)

Hey man skip the chain saw. It's messy and bad for your hearing. A nail
gun works great though. You can stick the ports front or back, no worries.
