I am trying to understand the chart in Wiki which gives latency for UAD-1 plugs. It seems to say that in order to correct for a single UAD-1 non-Pultec plug-in it is required to "nudge" 4 x 100ms and then add 1536 samples using sample slide. But this gives nowhere near the right correction. It seems to be close at 4700 samples, but this doesn't match the Wiki numbers at all.

Am I misunderstanding the chart or what's up?

Thanks,

ron

I'm not a UAD user, so those numbers are pretty much blind transcription on my part. Those seem to be the values I received, and Deej is pretty meticulous.

But I do believe the latencies changed with one of the revisions of the UAD drivers - any UAD users out there want to comment? I'd like to get more UAD info up on the Wiki, particularly since UAD-1s are so dirt cheap nowadays.

If you're on UAD version 5 or higher, the latency times for your system are listed on the UAD meter - 1st page of the drop down system info menu. On my system it's 172 ms per plugin. The problem is that the Paris ms nudge and slide button values aren't actually what they say they are. I believe the Wiki has the correct listing. As far as Doug Joyce's UAD latency values, I think they were specific to his system, and not universally applicable.

That is very helpful. I can get the exact correction using sampleslide.

Thanks you much,

Ron

Hey Ron, just a reminder that Faderworks is an amazing latency management app for using UAD in Paris or any other daw that does not have auto latency comp. Bought it last year and am very impressed with it.

Hey Rob -

Thanks for the link, since I have _just_ migrated to XP, and have a new assortment of
plugs, finding out about this was the next item on my list. I'll probably post back asking about any gotchas or optimum set ups for Paris.
