100 Greatest (Rock/Blues) Guitar Solos of all time?

I'll start things off...
1.) I'm surprised there's only a couple of the Steely Dan guys'
solos in the list.
2.) "Highway Star" (coming in at #19), while cool, is NOT
Ritchie Blackmore's best solo... the one from "Gates of
Babylon" is. I don't see how ANY guitar player could fail to
make that distinction.
3.) There's nothing from Ulrich Roth on the list? WTF? He's not
so obscure that "The Sails of Charon" would escape the poll's
scrutiny, is he?
4.) The list seems to reflect a rather pedestrian point of view.

I agree with y'all on the Steely Dan, and apparently not many Guitar World
readers have listened to XTC . . . Dave Gregory and Andy Partridge rule
jointly. Regarding their top ten, I don't think "Stairway to Heaven" is
Jimmy Page's best work, and I'm sorry, but I think "Free Bird" is a boring
song and a boring solo. I would never disagree with anything Jimi Hendrix,
though, and I was glad to see David Gilmour's "Comfortably Numb" in the top
ten.
My current favorite guitar solo, though, is the one Richard Harris does in
"Twilight," the closing song on Sarahtonin's Wayward CD.
OK, that was a blatant and shameless plug, but I'm totally serious about
Richard's solo. :)

Sweet, sweet Larry. I always loved those two albums, Aja and Gaucho, the
best. Just awesomely beautiful all the way around.
For those who have not seen the Classic Albums DVD on Aja, you're missing
one of the great documentaries ever filmed. "Pretty" Purdie's segment alone
is worth the money. And Chuck Rainey describing how he sneaked in some
slap/pop on "Peg"...truly priceless. Just really, really high levels of
creativity on display, and such wonderful characters, so full of love of
life, so charming. Becker and Fagen are hilarious...it's just a wonderful
DVD. Micky McD (my boy, god I love his voice) describing the extremely
difficult block harmonies he had to sing on "Peg"...Steve Gadd speaking of
what a relief it was to be able to play with subtlety on a pop record and be
thanked for it instead of reigned in constantly....
