Hey guys, been a while since I posted here. Still using Paris and loving it.
Have any of you heard of the Muse Receptor? What an awesome piece of gear.
It's my next purchase definitely especially with the need for high end
sampled sounds for my Synthophone live playing. If you haven't seen it,
check it out.

Speaking of which, if anyone is in the Albany, Schenectady area, I'm having
a 50th Birthday performance, cd release and all around good time party with
some great cats, at the Van Dyck here in Schenectady, NY on March 16th.
Check out the flier. I'm assuming it's ok to post this here. Kenwood Dennard
and Othello Molineaux will be on the gig.

Hi Rich,
THe Receptor is a staple in my live rig....
Mostly it runs the Scarbee libraries in Kontakt II, M-Tron, and occasionally
B4 if I have neither my Hammond or Nord on the gig. It is an extremely versatile
piece of kit...
As an aside - before moving to Boston I lived in Albany for about 5 years..

Rich -
I have had a Receptor for about a year now. Not doing any serious work
here with it because, well, I just don't do any serious work with
anything. However, the Receptor is great. I love the variety of synths
it comes with out of the box, and have added some others, but
generally avoided the big commercial and sampler-centric plugs. I
eagerly await Muse coming up with a solution for installing my Native
Instrument Komplete package.
There are issues, to be sure, with the Receptor, but if you are
content with the supported plugins, then it is a fantastic device. If
you need more information, visit the forum on the KVR website.

No kidding Phil, you lived in Albany, when was that? I've been here since
1993. What were you doing here? Boston is a great city, I lived there while
I attended Berklee, 1977 - 1979. I miss it.

Paul, not familiar with the Native Komplete package. I'll have to look into
the support for other sampled sounds, but the thing sounds unbelievable to
my ears.

After living in Scotia, we moved to Erie, PA, then I went to Easton, PA,
to go to Lafayette. College wasn't really for me, so I ended up joining
the Air Force, which took me to California and Texas and then a five
year stint in Berlin, Germany. When I got out in '85, I went back to
California, but I couldn't take living in Santa Barbara (visiting is
OK), so I moved to Tucson in '87 and have been here ever since...

I don't get it. What's the appeal? I've lived in both Santa Barbara and
Goleta. My mom and one of my sisters still live there and my dad is buried
in SB Cemetery, so I'm sure I'll go back periodically for the rest of my
life. One cheesy TV station, spotty cell reception, a small town newspaper,
outrageous rent, impossible real estate pricing, crappy beaches, not much
local entertainment, huge homeless population. Evenings are beautiful as
you watch the sunset through the structures of the oil rigs on the ocean.
And most people in Santa Barbara seem to think they live in Montecito, which
is where the truly affluent live. Oh well, at least they finally got rid of
the traffic lights on the highway a while back...
