I sure appreciate all the helpful tips posted here and wanted to share that
I found the solution to a problem when I migrated Paris to Windows XP Pro.

The problem was that the EDS compressors were not working for the channel
inserts. It was frustrating since I really like using them and all the other
insert efx were working.

I'm a big fan of Chuck's plugins and had installed all of them.
Unfortunately, on my box, there was a conflict. When I removed all but the
basic EDS effects dlls from the system32 folder the compressors worked
again.

I still have the eventiter and modulation efx working so that good since I
like them alot too.

Anyways, since I had posted in the midst of my confusion, thought I post the
solution too.
