Think it'll catch on? Maybe Bruce Hornsby'll start playing one...

Funny you should post this right now, DJ.

Believe it or not, I was thinking about something like this just yesterday.

Other than the obvious butt-of-jokes qualities about accordions, the real
problem with them is that it's really really hard to play them quietly. When
you (or I, as the case may be) try, I lose much of the feeling, control and
subtlety. (As if there was any to lose. I know. I know.)

But it ocurred to me that a digital recreation could actually turn the volume
down and still have the same expression. Or so it seemed to me yesterday,
when I was thinking this idea I had. It was my idea. And it was mine.

I saw something about the Roland accordion/synth thing some time ago. I think
they reviewed it in Keyboard mag. It was ungodly heavy and ridiculously expensive,
and not very expressive, as it turned out. Too organ like, I think.

For now I'll stick to my little ancient noisemaker.

Maybe Roland can work on a V-odour version...

what comes out, no matter what FZ said...

That is exactly what it has to do with.

The big advantage, as a player, is that you're not dependent on pumping the
bellows constantly, but only for emphasis or expression.

Amazing how they put that much time and money into something and still manage
to have half the sounds suck.

The other half are quite good, though.

I apologize for actually taking this stuff seriously....

I believe all accordian players will take this stuff seriously,
especially if they're playing in a band;-)
