What's the easiest, most accurate way to calibrate the inputs on an 8i card? I've got three of them that I got on the 'bay, and I've never calibrated them.

What do you use for a signal source? And is it safe to assume that you set "actual zero" a tad below "indicated zero" to give yourself a bit of headroom?

There's an old but very in-depth calibration manual for the 8i at the Wiki in the "reference library" section.

Ooops. Looks like I'm not registered, and apparently I have to be invited to join the club.

That's too bad, since I haven't had much luck with that all through life....

Wow. That is thorough. Wish I had an 8ot card...

I think the Emu 1212 in my other audio pc has balanced TRS outs. That might work.

Now, I need to find a VOM that does RMS. Doesn't look like my one Simpson does - I'll have to check my rackmount Fluke and my portable Fluke (once I find where I set it down... Confused )

Woohoo! I have an assortment of VOM's, one of the perks of working at a surplus electronics shop for years. My two Flukes and the Simpson don't do RMS, but the fancy-schmancy HP I had on the bench in the garage does.

After the weekend, I can set up and calibrate them suckers.

Thanks for the pointer.
