Deej called & also e-mailed me & seemed to think I was offended
at something herein, and it seems James' comment about "you can
dish it out, but you can't take it", indicates that he felt the
same way... well, no one's offended me or insulted me here
(not lately, anyway - at least not that I can recall), so I just
thought I'd clear that up. My whole reason for leaving is
simple, and that is: there are simply no posts about music here
anymore.

I mean, I've not posted here much lately, but I have checked in,
and when I realized that yet another week had gone by with
nearly zero music or recording-related posts, I just tired of
it.

I never minded the occasional OT thread, and in fact, I always
felt that some of those were part of what made this community
interesting (Deej's dogs, Don's pics of the latest snowstorm,
etc.) But, good gawd... look at the past week or two's worth of
topics - forget about the fact that the community is smaller &
hardly anyone uses Paris anymore, does NO ONE here want to
discuss music-related stuff, but rather simply use this as a
forum for anything BUT?

Anyway, who am I to tell you what to do with your sandbox? If
you want to play in it in it's current form, then feel free...
it's just not for me anymore.

Actually, some of us have moved all our OT stuff to the
general section and been quite disciplined about it.

I would suggest that the rest of us do that, and further, that
when someone doesn't, we let them know that they should...

immediately...

And let's do a moratorium on all platform war nonsense
please. If someone feel obligated to post that sort of thing,
can we please ignore them?

I have a lot going on musically, and would love to talk about it
here, and your input is always worthwhile.

I'll point out that I have been posting to the general. Remember the last
political storm that went on here?

My post that drew the fire was relevant to music and some of the guys here.

I'm NOT looking for a Mac vs PC war, I have much better things to do with
my time! Besides DC, it turns people like you off, and drives people away
from the Mac platform.

Neil, FYI, my post that drew the fire was relevant to music and some of the
guys here. When you piled on, I called you out and you announced you were
leaving, that was the reason for my comment.

I'm NOT looking for a Mac vs PC war, I have much better things to do with
my time! I just don't appreciate being mocked every-time I make a post that
has to do with macs, if I am I will fire back.

I don't so much care about Deej posting the new Apple product joke, I like
Deej, it's a few of the other guys that are trying to insult me, and it's
time I point out that it's every time, and I'm not laughing. So I'll say,
Thad and John, if you guys want to keep this up, if you want to make it unpleasant
to post here, I'm sure it will damage the NG. People will leave.

Trust me when I say, I have held back on posting "every apple news release".
I'm not looking to stir it up, I would rather the NG be about audio, macs
are part of that. If there is a mac post and your not interested in mac
related stuff, ignore it. I will try to refrain from making negative comments
on MS, as I have been doing.

The choice is up to you guys, we can respect each other and have a more peaceful
NG, or NOT.

This is nothing but a threat.

I think it is time for a new app to host the group on.
One that can be moderated.

James, you should be banned for threatening the peace
and future of our little group here.

Shame on you.

My statement was not a threat, it was more of a matter of fact. If people
are going to mock and put down others it's not going to be peaceful around
here. If people are going to disrespect me, they will get it back, got it?

DC, what you have insinuated was a threat. If I don't go a long to get along,
I will be ostracized from the community. Now you saying I should be band.
I think it's you that is being threatening.

yeah baby!

Good work Don.

I put them up on the studio monitors. comments follow:

Two is a cool prog sort of thing. Where is Neil??
Good sound, man. I might pull the bass back a hair and
fatten the guitar a bit and do a multi-band squeeze on it,
but you are close indeed.

Why Me? is great! Kind of Gregg Allman meets Trower...
I love it. Great vocal sound, again I want to hear more
meat on the guitar.

Beyond Opposites Cool tune. I want to hear the spoken
vocal parts a bit more. Just a db or two. I might thin the
electric piano just a bit to give the bass more room.

On Your Left I want to hear more reverb on the girl singers.
Just a thought.

Puppy I want to hear a bit of a scoop in the acoustic guitar
say 150-200 or maybe a bit lower. Great guitar sound
otherwise. I would bring the lead vocal forward a bit.
Again, I want to hear more reverb on the girls.

Anyway, that's just my .02 and don't mean a thing.

Great work! I need to get off my butt and do some
more recording of my originals.

thanks for sharing these!

DC

Not of my doing. See, I am still talking to you.

Surprised?

Oh yeah, you threatened not me, but the peace of the group,
and you have shown that getting your revenge is more
important than the group is to you. So, if I could, I would
ban you. I prefer that you develop a sense of humor
towards even those who mock you.

Am I wasting my time here?

Q: Excuse me sir, is this the end of the line?
A: No, it's the front, we're all standing backward!

It seems you get more and more thin skin here and it seems you can't
understand it at all, as far as you're going on here with your kind of
writings to get some kind of idiotic revenge over someone you mean started
attacking you. But I'm not a netdoctor at all to give you any diagnose about
this kind of illness, other than I have learned to use some common sense
after living and talking and writing with human people for over a half
century.

.....common sense is one of the most healthy things we can have, but we need
to understand how to use it, especially when it comes to net-ethics...

Thanks for listening

James, it occurred to me one of the reasons people are a bit turned off
by Mac info is, a lot of us use PCs and have for years, warts and all.
We see these wise-ass commercials on TV all the time that portray pcs
(and by association, pc users) as fat, sneaky, boring losers and after a
while we get fed up, so there's a good bit of Mac jadedness among us.
Then when you post about all the latest Apple news and stuff (not that
you shouldn't if it is on-topic, as the video editing s/w was) you can't
blame us for getting a little wise-assy back at you, since you are the
only available target for our McBacklash.

On top of that many of us have finally figured out that you and Apple
are part of a vast Scottish conspiracy to swindle us out our money with
over-priced computers and underpriced hamburgers.
