This'll be my first foray into firewire hubs for audio.. what are the
recommends these days?

HI Aaron,
Didn't notice this post before.
I haven't had much running audio devices off hubs. Haven't tried lately
though to see if it has improved.

Hey Chris, appreciate the insight. I'm planning to probably use one of the
two onboard TI chipset ports (the 4 pin) to run any audio from, and tie into
the 6 pin with the hub to run stuff like camcorder and iPOD. Are you aware
of anyone using TI chips in a hub, and in this application does that matter?

Hi Aaron,
If the 6 pin and 4 pin are the on board connector then they are using
the same firewire bus. You will be dividing up your bandwidth no matter
what. Adding the hub will just divide it further.
