Help, Deleted Music Folder Files in XP [message #64417]

Junior Member

I must have accidentally Deleted a whole Song folder and just
realized it today, it must have happen within the past week.
But before I realized what I did, I cleared the Recycle Bin.
This was a large project of more than 2 months work. Is there
anyway in XP that I can retrieve them. I did a search,I checked
the recycle bin and the folder is no where on any of my Hard
Drives. Is this hopeless?? Thanks, Frank

Your only hope is probably data recovery software.

I've used this before (easy recovery pro).

The more that you've written to the drive since though, the harder it will be to recover.

Try Norton Utilities. The files and folders will likely still be on your hard
drive unless you've written lots of new, additional files to the drive. Windows
just flips a single bit in the directory entry table and the file no longer
appears in directory listings. In most cases, Norton Unerase will allow you
to recover the files.
