I'll do the kids first and make him watch. I've had to go back a few
generations in Ghost to get to a configuration that will allow me to reload
the VIA AGP driver and then the P750 loaded from the onboard Windows driver
and now everything seems to works great. It was the newest driver from
Matrox's website that hosed me........so now I only have to reload all my
RME drivers, UAD-1 suftware and every ****'in VSTi I've got here, which, of
course, means reregistering them all. This is going to take at least a full
day out of my life. The reason I got the P750 was to have something more
contemporary to work with when troubleshooting all the crackling crap that's
happening in my cubase SX rig. Hopefully it will help ....I should send
Matrox a bill for a days work.

I will not run Matrox drivers on my G450.. even BT called them 'marginally
evil' back when it was the thing to buy for Paris, period. Does the 750
allow for native drivers man? I'd sure be trying that, and don't forget
Windows Update.com if XP doesn't see them properly.

The reason I loaded the drivers from the Matrox site was because I am
running a very dated version ofWin XP (pre SP-1) It's low on code bloat so I
like it. I did DL SP-1 and DX9 and added these, but I didn't think this OS
was recent enough to have native XP drivers for the P750. Turns out it does
have them......unhappily I discovered this too late. I'm going to be
spending all day Saturday getting my native system back up to speed. So far,
the native P750 drivers seem to be doing OK.

There's a simple way to prevent this . . . don't buy Matrox cards. Ever again.
Also, if this is the worst mistake in your life good for you. The worst mistake
in my life involved a quart of tequila, my roomate's mom, a 1997 Chevy Capris,
a can of purple spray paint, and the Quinnipiac volleyball team but that's
another story for another day.

I've been involved with tequila, Chevy's, and volleyball teams before so I
know a little about this, but I want to know what you did with your
roommate's mom and spray paint.
;o)
