I am about to replace/reconfigure my PARIS computer system.
I will be using 3 EDS 1000 cards, maybe one more and using Windows 10.
I have been looking at a custom motherboard company called ADEK. Anyone heard of these people?
I have been given a quote on a new motherboard that comes with 4 original PCI slots, actually a complete system short of a chassis.
Of course, I am concerned about compatibility issues with PARIS hardware.
It will include an ATX LGA 1151 board, and an Intel i7-6700 quad-core 3.4GHZ 8M LGA 1151 processor with graphics 530.
A 326 chipset, 16g DDR4-2400 ram.
Do I need to know any more parameters before I commit? It's a pricey thing but I don't have the rackspace to use an additional
PCI rack.
Also what is the operating voltage for an older PCI slot card?
Thanks

What I did about 3 years ago is build a modern PC with a commercially available motherboard. The PC was completely silent (no fans, SS hard drives, passive CPU cooler, fanless power supply). Windows 10. I found an old Magma chassis on the internet, bought it, and upgraded the power supply and the fans so it's almost totally silent as well. The EDS cards get hot so I felt I had to use fans, but I got super quiet ones, not the wind turbine that was in the Magma originally. Under a desk, a little distance, and I record acoustic guitars with this setup. I could run up to an 8 card system, but I only use 5.
All of the details are here on the forum. Just search my name from around 2020.

Thanks for all the replies and advice.
I am still weighing options for a new computer build,
having to take into consideration rack space and total costs.
I have been given an old ProTools/Digidesign PCI expansion made by SBS Technologies,
model MH477 or their generic model number DD007-R.
Would anyone out there know about compatibility using PARIS EDS1000 cards in this?
I am considering going with PCIex expansion in the new computer to PCI cards in the SBS
Thanks again
