After a few false starts, & some well appreciated advice from Mike, my Paris system finally booted up on XP. Very Happy Haven't had time to run any projects as of yet, but it all looks to be in order. However there is one hiccup! Confused

After loading Mike's drivers, I installed Paris from my original Paris Pro V3 disk, which of course asked for authorization. in the entire time I've owned it (from new) it's only ever thrown up two different challenges, & I've kept a record of both responses. I can't remember what the challenges were, so I can't tell you if the current challenge it's thrown up is different from the other two, but either way neither of the responses I have will work. I had to open it up in demo mode, which gave me 7 days to run it.

A couple days later I found the link on this forum to download the Paris V3 installer. I uninstalled my version & ran the download, hoping it might not require authorization. However it did, so again I opened it in demo mode, which gave me - 5 days left to run it!!..
Shocked

Does the V3 installer from this forum require authorization? If not, it looks like my original disk of V3 has left some sort of file tucked away on the computer that polices the demo period. Anyone know where I might find this file, & how I can get rid of it?

HI Paisley

You'll have to send the challenge code into Intelligent Devices. They'll give you a response that will work.

Assuming nothing's changed with them...

FWIW....interestingly enough I could not get the last response code from ID to work after cloning a multi-partitioned hd a couple of months ago. I checked everything...and they absolutely have no clue either...running de-paced right now.

Thanks for that link Ted. Had a code back from ID within hours; Paris is happily unencumbered now!! Very Happy

Good news.

I still find it fascinating that they support the product like this...

As long as they keep responding they'll continue to charge for 3.0.

The fact that we're still waiting for 3.1 which I believe was part of the deal with Creative still stings.
