Hi David.

I'm not sure what current MB's are working for people. There is some debate
as to whether the EDS card (5V card) will work in newer PCI spec machines
that are 3.3V.

Currently, Paris runs just fine on my Epox 9NDA3 motherboard with a Athlon64
X2 processor. This is somewhat aging tech - DDR memory, AGP video card. But
it works. The only trick is turning off one of the cores when doing Paris
work.

Has anyone tried (successfully or not) to run the EDS in a newer MB that
supports PCI-Express for video? I have a Asus P5K-E board waiting to be used,
and the PCI keying looks right, but I don't have a processor to test with.

Thanks!

-Rohde

Hi Rohde,

I'm using an asrock am2nf3-vsta motherboard with paris in xp and in windows
98se. It's an AGP, AM2 motherboard that will take a pheonom chip.

I haven't been able to get a GeForce 6800 or a 6200 video card to work in
Windows 98 SE, though my old Matrox G400 works fine.

I also had to search around a bit for the USB2.0 Windows 98 drivers for the
chipset - I think I got them from the Gigabyte site.

Hope this helps.

Mike, thanks for the response. That is an interesting combination - newer
AM2 socket with older AGP graphics.

The nForce3 chipsets (used by your MB) are listed as PCI 2.3 compliant and
5V tolerant. That also goes for the nForce4 chipsets, so there is a chance
those would work as well and they are PCI-Express.

Hi Rohde,

The only trouble with PCI Express is that there aren't any drivers for Windows
98. That's why I stuck with AGP.

Good luck with the decision!
