I'm currently interested in purchasing my first PARIS system. I figured I would turn here for assistance.

Thesoniq will sell me a full package of the blue model for 713 shipped. Is this acceptable? Should I hold out for something better?

depends on what's in the system

going prices for Paris components are

$100 for a MEC
$150 for 8 in / 8 out / ADAT cards
$50 for a C 16
$20 for a 442

shipping will be the killer as this stuff isn't exactly light

This is not unfair from TheSoniq - the thing to remember is that his stuff should be checked over and be "as new".

You can get used parts from others for less for sure, but you run the slight risk of it breaking down anyway.

The main items to suffer with use are the EDS cards, and the C16 control surface...
Having said that, the only thing I've had break (other than the C16) were my MEC and EDS1000 because I bent a pin on the connector and shorted everything out.
