Hi all,

I've used an analog multi-meter for years to ohm speaker and audio cables.
I recently ran into a situation where I might need more.

At several gigs I noticed my sound fading and cutting out completely at
times. I thought it was the amp but it turns out it was a guitar cable from
the POD to the amp. This cable is never jerked around or even moved during
performance. The cable ohm'd out OK. I replaced the cable and everything
works well. Can a cable ohm out OK and yet breakdown under use? I'm
talking guitar cables or audio line cables.

Secondly, I thinking of purchasing the Behringer CT-100 cable tester ($30 at
zzSounds, $40 at a local GC). The spec states it can detect intermittent
problems. I've researched the Nady, ART and two others (I forget the names)
and they all seem to do the same thing but at a higher price point. Any
recommendations from users or studio engineers?

Thanks,
Wayne

Never seen it, and have doubts that there is enough current to do so. I'd
say more likely

I have one at work. Best $30 I've spent in quite a few years.
