Hey Folks,
To simplify my control room routing I'd like to have 24 inputs plugged into my mec. Understanding that I can only record 16 tracks at once, I'm wondering if I could record from (3) 8in cards at once, but only using 16 ch?
I have a spare MEC and 442, just trying to keep the interfacing simple.
Thanks for any info / feedback.

Looks like ya can't lol.
Only 2 in modules can be used simultaneously.

Yeah, unfortunately, as you sound like you discovered, more than that won't fit in the MEC MODULES object.

You can have different patchbay configurations set up which access different MEC modules, which at least means that you can still hard-patch gear in the back of the MEC and toggle between any combination of two groups of 8 inputs by loading a different saved patchbay setup. I don't know if that helps with what you're trying to achieve.
