Digital Media is proposing a rate of 4.1 %

i.e. $0.04 USD per digital download

ya think we'd at least get a kiss before...

And 0% on streaming media, which is likely to be the future that replaces
CDs and even downloads. It's amazing how DiMA and even the RIAA are simply
ignoring the simple fact that without motivation to sell content, there are
no content creators. "Fame" is of no use in a billion-song download market
(needle in a haystack) when there is no "fortune" to accompany it.

They are sadly mistaken if they think writers and artists are going to
practically give their art away just so distributors can make a mint on it.

If the industry doesn't want creative professionals, then a new industry
will simply replace it. I already have an idea along those lines....

There is a *recording artists safety guide to the beach* floating about
somewhere that pretty well sums this up.
You might see if it's reachable on google. Warning: Adult language... which
is why I won't post it here.
