People predicting the imminent end of Moore’s Law are proven wrong again.

HI Gene,
Yes the hardware is jumping far ahead of the software that runs on it.
There is no audio software atm the moment that will do 8 effectively.
Most won't use 4 and there are even some that still can only use one. 2
or more cpu systems have been around for years now and multi core cpus
for almost 3 years.
The only thing keeping native from completely replacing hardware based
is the software/OS. The computer hardware is more than up for the task.
