I like it much better than 2.2. I'm using XP Pro. It also has some basic
midi features, fader grouping, a wave editor and more. There is one feature
that doesn't work, but can't recall at the moment, but nothing critical.
You can download the manual and see what's new - from the EMUor ID site I
believe.

Rendering: don't use DOS unfriendly characters or naming. No spaces, no
@#$^&(*_ type characters and use 8 or less characters in the channel strip.
It is indeed a very handy feature.
Compact files: Doesn't work, don't bother.
Midi: sucks, don't bother.
Ver3 also likes a little more cache than 2.2 in the config file.
Native mixes: just don't. They work, but they sound sterile and as DJ
can tell you they have some real dangerous quirks.
Another biggie is, welcome to the world of PACE. Scour the paris
websites and follow the instructions for use with XP. Also, realize that by
going XP your adat machines (if you even have any) will no longer follow
with the 9 pin sync and you can only have one adat card per MEC. Some ppl
have the 9 pin sync working with other sources, but I never got it to lock
up to a real adat machine. I can't remember if the adat machines worked for
some or not on ver 3 and ME/9x. I sold my adats and stopped trying years
ago - might not have all the details right on this one.
Version 3 also doesn't have the DSP effects list problem 2.xx does. You
can actually see them all when you add the freebies Chuck gave away (again,
see the paris websites for info hosted by various members here). Speaking of
freebies.... FreakQ has issues, you probably wanna skip that one.

Dunno about that. I use WinXP here. Seems like I may have installed to ME at
one point, but I don't remember details other than it worked.

Yes. Install them to different paths. Install 2.2 first, then 3. Something
like C:\Paris and C:\ParisPro would do just fine. Keep in mind Paris 2.xx
and older will NOT open a Paris 3 PPJ if you saved any DSP effects to an
Aux.

version 3 works with adats in ME/98. It's the jump to XP that makes adats
not work. The adat 9 pin sync works with other sources, (under XP) just not
with adats.
