I know RME has products that do this, but they look a little pricey. Does
anyone know of any other hardware that can do this conversion on a budget?

Thanks,
b

I use one of these and it works great.........and it's bidirectional so you
only need one of them to send and return converted signals.

I was trying to send out the SPDIF 0404 to the SPDIF on the MEC and I got
no signal in PARIS. I didn't try to sync lock the signal and I didn't make
sure everything was on the same sample rate, but it should be. Would the
absence of a sync clock cause the signal not to be recognized? Or should
I have heard something at least with pops and clicks?
In the PatchMix Output config I selected MON for the SPDIF.
I was registering on the Stereo LED output meter of the PatchMIx software.
But when I routed from the DL and RL on the MEC to a pair of channels and
record enabled them I got nothing for sound.
Does this sound right.
I was using a brand new Monster SDPIF RCA cable.

Thanks
