The Shiny box mics are made by the same guys that
do nady,rode,blue, marshall etc...
Shang Hai Filo makes them all - I know the nady is 6 microns
and we had for comparisons , while its a ribbon - it really
is not close in performance at all to the royer or SE.

From some folks right here.
SO the SE is more like a royer than and RCA?
Will you have clips of vocals recorded through em?
I was planning on a ribbon in the next week or so.

I know for a fact, (having toured around Rode's Sydney, Australia

>Hi Martin,
My apology , please allow me to clarify. Shang Hai Filo makes
most lower end Chinese mics that include the names I mentioned
and many more. I'll have photo's of this facility online soon.
I'm not sure which Rode mics are made ( assembled ) there and which ones
are made by 797 Audio ( Studio Projects etc.. ),I'm sure their premium
mics are made in Australia as you found . I'll find out . Rode , like
many other companies assemble mics in various places due to labor costs
etc...

I saw the machining of the NT6 capsule as well as the NTG shotgun series and
also the NT-4 series.
They recently bought a MULTI million $$$ weapons grade milling machine from
Japan to manufacture capsules and the like.

$125.00 including shipping. Paypal add 3%.
thanks much.
jonHi Jim,
I guess US Post would be the simplest method. What payment method (bank
cheque, Paypal, direct deposit) would you prefer ? I've used direct deposit
in the past but it incurs a $25 transfer fee. Maybe PayPal would be best ?
In any case, let me know the total amount and I'll send you address
details. I'm in Sydney, Australia.
Cheers,
Stewart.
