Just ran into the weirdest problem with using the record enable button on the C16.

I have a 5 card, 3 C16 rig and running 3.0. I realized recently that I can only enable record from the 2 C16s that are plugged into the first two EDS cards. The third C16, plugged into any of the other EDS cards, works completely normally (as far as I can tell) except that the record enable button will not arm a track. The lights correctly show when a track is armed for recording, it's just the button that doesn't work.

Fast forward through several hours of swapping C16s, CAT5 cables, EDS cards, EDS card positions, jumper cables on EDS - nothing fixes it. Finally I load PARIS 2.2 and it everything works as it should.

Is there some issue 3.0 and multiple C16s?

I know this is a stupid question, Rich. (Given you know more about Paris than a lot of folk). But, have you checked that all the c-16's are set to "classic mode", rather than "pro mode"? (In the config settings).
Cheers.

I don't think it's a stupid question. I didn't even know that was a thing you coulf set. I'm on vacation right now, but when I get back home I will look into that.

Thanks for the tip.

... and give Kim the prize!! Some C16s set to "Pro" mode was exactly the problem. I have no idea how it got that way, but I set them all back, restarted, and record enable works again.

Thanks a bunch, Kim.
