Any opinion about Behringer V-Verb Pro 9024 and Virtualizer DSP 2024p?Apart
this, V-Verb Pro not for official sale in EU, only private auction on Ebay.

If it comes with it's own fire extinguisher, it might be OK...

....unless the fire extinguisher is a Beheringer model, too.

I had a behr verb, it shot craps days outside of it's warranty. I wasn't
that impressed with it to begin with, so I didn't even put up a fight,
rather it made for a nice doorstop. Don't remember the model ( you can see
what a great impression it made here, heh. )
I have owned some pretty decent Behr stuff, but the verb was far from that
list. YMMV.

And therein lies the problem with their gear - inconsistency.
Some people get pieces that work fine, while enough other people
get pieces that die way too soon, catch fire, etc. I wouldn't
chance it on this stuff myself... not worth the risk unless you
don't mind taking high-percentage risk on throwing away however
much money you spent on the items.

unfortunately , they all break. maybe not as frequently as ballringer shit.
I had a $4500 fuckusrite 215 crap out days out of warranty .I was NOT
happy. they were nice enough to fix it for $250. luckily my good friend
morgan sent it out for me. it probably would have been more money if i sent
it out myself. If it happens again im going to plink holes in it with my
AR-15 and watch it burn in my fireplace.

Opinion about bad technical quality of Behringer is myth.I have Ultradyne
Pro many years without any troubles. Also I had few other Beringers like Ultrafex,
Composer, Ultramach and others now I dont't remember them all.But anyway,
they never destroyed, I sold them in exelent condition.I heard from other
peoples bad opinion about quality of made, I dont't accept.Other story is
sound quality, it is allways subjective and in my opinion much of Behringer
pieces are good or enought good for use, particulary for low price vs. to
other company.I don't know new reverbs why I asked on this forum.Old Virtualizer
1000P dont't satisfied my ears, but few person good talk about V-Verb 2496
and new Virtualizer DSP 2024P, this last one cost about 130 Eur only.

If you have a $130 euro to toss and you believe in their quality, go for it.
That's not a lot of dough if it comes up a winner, just make sure you can
dump that thing on ebay/in your area and not completely lose your $$$.

Not money for AMS...

Zmora,
You can tailor the EDS Plate pretty nicely with a BarbEQ in front of it
on the aux bus. I like cutting a hole in the lower mids for guitars
and vocals sometimes. Just use the peaking filter and cut where
you need to.

actually john , the ensoniq dp pro has excellent reverbs. It has IIRC, 4
ensoniq dsp chips onboard. That unit was the precursor to paris dsp, or so i
was told.
too bad they stopped development on it .I wanted the digi card for it but
that was vaporware.

I love Paris's Verbs.. Use them all the time. The verbs were one the first
things that made me fall in love with Paris.. The Plate verb justt sits in
a mix just right..

Lamont, you & I don't agree about much, but:

1.) PT HD Does sound really good.
2.) Paris Plate rocks the house.

That's good enough for me. lol

I love Paris, John.It is still the best for me recording system.
Not easy, not full of magic presets but open for creative mind.
Version 3 improved Paris very much.To say about reverbs, I use two Room Verbs
for true stereo, each one for each chanel full left and right panorama (in
and out) on bus and I have wondrfull room, absoluty true stereo.Result is
differet like one Room Verb in stereo mode.I like Paris compressor too.
Martin,my agree...

You're all wrong. I have always thought the EDS reverb sucked. I'm on
record for that. I will continue to support the strengths of Paris and
point out what I don't like.

Z, least expensive way I know of to get a great reverb plugin
like what you're talking about is to buy a Lexicon Alpha (about
$125 USD), don't load the drivers, but do install the CubaseLE
software that comes with it, then look in the plugins folder &
you'll find a .dll for Lexicon Pantheon reverb. Move that file
into whatever folder you have your other VST plugins located,
de-install the CubaseLE software & now you've got a KILLER
reverb with nice rooms & halls, plus an assortment of other
things, all with very smooth tails, for a buck-and-a-quarter.

Haven't yet figured out what to do with the Alpha unit itself,
except perhaps use it as a doorstop. :)

Pantheon rocks but I could only get it to work in Paris as a stereo
verb. As mono crashed me up.

John, you are very angry with Paris, but you could respect that it was developed
so long ago, maybe 1996-97, I can tell you that it was amazing compare to
what was around at that time, and I mean Pro Tools, Cubase, Soanar. Last
updates 3.0 was released in 2001, probably written in 2000, so it doesn't
have the features of updated brands, we would all want those updates that
did not come for the last 5 years, so Paris is just a classic audio system
in history now. But it does real good things still, without the updates,
why would we even bother if it didn't have the unique sound / mixbus? I hope
you find what you are looking for, whichever brand you find it.

I don't know that it was ever intended for mono usage - I've
never even tried to do that because I wouldn't have any use for
a mono reverb anyway... stick it on an aux buss & use it as
a "send" (group) effect.

Sorry, I'm not sure my post ended up in the best place, not really addresses
the topic of Behringer Reverb or where that went. John wants to go to what
is new, for the most features, who could blame him? That is the mission,
always.

Like nearly all threads in any forum, this one deviated slightly.
Just offering you an idea for a type of reverb that will give you
EXACTLY what you described. Buy the Behringer if you wanna try
it...

....and an asbestos case to rack it in.

I'm not angry in any way so don't put words in my mouth. In fact you
never know, I might be back. Definitely not angry. But the EDS reverbs
suck in my opinion. That doesn't make me angry. I think Paris is
amazing really. Do you think I would maintain a web page for it if I
was truly angry? hehe

kewl, I still use pantheon regularly because it sounds so good and is
very easy to config. It was just a heads up on the mono thingy in Paris.

I was so close to buying the Behringer Ad/Da but then I said, I don't
have time to be screwing with problems and went with Presonus. I really
think Behringer is hit or miss stuff and I didn't want to chance it.

For the price, you can't get any better. Is it not for official sale in
EU???? I buyed mine official in Cobenhagen the first year it came out and am
using it daily, together with Paris. I am using "oceans" of Behringer
products here and have used them for years without any problems at all, so
the myth about how bad Behringer products are is just a myth for me, but not
for Deej;-) I see the shops are selling it official in Cobenhagen.

Thanks Erlio. Is it usefull verb with Paris? Is it different kind of reverb
vs.EDS reverb but none-lower quality?
Look at Behringer web for price, you'll reconised that it not for sale in
EU.I mean about V-Verb 2496.
I agree about "myth of bad quality".

I don't think you can go wrong with V-Verb 2496. For me, it's very useful
with Paris. I have DSP2024P too but it's a lower quality in my ears, so I
don't use it at all.
If you're looking at Behringer's website and look at "Support", I think you
can find a Behringer dealer near you in an EU town.

Good luck
