Last night I loaded up those Antress Modern plugin's that (I
think it was) Lamont came across & posted here.
Anyone else getting operational issues with these things?
In my case, if I'm inserting & de-inserting them on the fly,
I've had several lockups where the CPU meter doesn't get close
to 100%, but Cubase locks up & I have to shut it down & restart
(just the app, not the whole computer).
Standing still there's no problem, but if I'm in playback &
trying them out is is when it happens - usually on the removal
of the plugin from the channel (stereo/mono, track/group
channel, 2-buss - doesn't matter).
Some of 'em sound pretty good, tho, I must say!

only once but it was with paris on a 5 year old puter. i think i was
using...hell i don't remember but i've used them since with no probs.

I have not noticed. I'll try your test this afternoon to see if I can replicate
your results.
Those plugins(Antress) sound very good. The verb and delay is very natural.
As are the compressors.
Which (Plugin(s)) do you like?

I haven't seen a 'verb & delay one - wonder if I downloaded the
wrong packet? I downloaded two packets, but I can't get one
of 'em to "un-Rar" (de-rar?) I thought they were the same, just
that one was an installer & the other had only the .dll's. No???
What are the 'verbs & delays called? & are they located in a
different packet?
Anyway, the ones I like so far are the Neve 1081 module on
kick & snare, the "Monster" compressor on Toms, and the
Pultec-y thing on Bass. The 1176 emulation seems to be fairly
close in sound - actually perhaps a bit over-the-top of that
sound... I tried it on guitars, and it certainly adds that edge
to it, but methinks a bit too much for my taste, even on mild
settings. I'm messing around a bit with the Analogue-izer or
whatever it's called (tape & tube sim, etc), and that might
have some possibilities, too - not sure yet.

The verb is called "spacer"... I can't remember what the delay is called.
Everything I've played with so far sounds at least pretty good and most of
it sounds really good. Question: on the Neve eqs, how do you adjust the
gain/cut knob in the middle of the the frequency selector?

Well here's my take on them:
-Space verb & delay)Nice. I comapred to the Wave(IR1) and Wizoo verbs and
it can hang with them.
-Modern Analoger Turbo: Very nice and Phatt. Youcan add coor to stale sounding
tracks.
-Modern Black Dragon (Aka Pultec Eq) Nice. Full bodied and smooth..
Modern VS-ME(classic Urie 1176) Very good. Very agressive
-Modern VF-ME(aka Fairchild compressor) Okay. I compared this plugin to the
SSL channel compressor plugin from Waves. Well, my ears say that the Antress
VF-ME has that fairchild "glueing " magic just as good as the SSL.
-Modern VD-ME (DBX 160). I tested this on a Bass track.. Instant warmth and
smooth compression. Nice
-Modern VR-ME (Manley Vari-mu Compressor). Again, strpped across the Master
buss, and magic. Nice!!! Jsut a few turns of the params, you know you got
something special..
-Modern V73-ME(neve 1073).I compared to the URS 1073. I the URS was a just
a tad more smooth(er).. But, the Antress Neve can and will get used.
-Modern VP-ME(Thermonic Compressor). Color color color.Smooth smooth. Nice..
-Modern Amplifier.. Nice smooth limitier. Simple but get's the job done on
vocal and other things.
All in all, I'm impressed with these plugins. what's mind boggling is that
they are Free!!! I will be sending-donating some cash to this company.
Lastly, I would pay for these plugins.

Neil, I really don't do that much inserting on the fly . My method is to just
keep oopening up different instances in different slots. Then, toggle the
bypass sitch to test.
