Hi Tom-
I missed whatever your reference to not using the Default Project is, can
you explain? Also- I have a suspected blown MEC too, with a basic
working knowledge of circuit and electronics, can I do the repair you've
done? Could you post some instructions?

Hi Ted,
The mec was broken due to a loose SCSI cable while starting Paris.
Sparks and smoke occurred. The symptoms afterward were clock
was never found nor the modules in the mec. The repair was a single=20
20 pin chip in the Master section of the mec.
Chip fP94AD
DM74LS
244WM
The replacement was found at Digi-Key.com
Part # SN74LS244DW
I don't know what happened to your mec but this fixed one so far of =
three
that were displaying the same symptoms. I watched the repair and helped =
a bit.
Not rocket science but you need to know how to remove the chip and =
solder
off the board before replacing it. If you have the technique you're =
good to go.
Good luck,
Tom
