How do you compensate for lateny on say a stereo UAD la2a on track 15 and
16 set up to recieve drums and bass guitar for smashing and blendin with
the orignal tracks that also may be using UAD plugs or not?
Also I'd like to use the UAD plate and send more than one thing to it. How
do I compensate here?

Martin, re-thinking your previous response makes me consider whether maybe
my "emotional" attachment to Paris is getting in the way of good common sense.
It seems to
me that the EMU system must have directly taken much of the best of what
Paris is...then added all the integrated extras that Paris lacks.

The eds compressor as an insert in a mono channel doesn't really work and
also all the presets are gone.
At the same time everything works as a master insert (even if the preset are
still missing).
A BIG THANX to all that help this great sounded system to still work.
AlexHi,
What I would do is reinstall the subsystem effects in you Paris directory.
You know the minimum setup exe
Be sure that this will install in your Emu folder.

So if I got one of these cards, primarily for the EFX, just to
have some more variety & lighten the CPU load when I'm running
more EFX, would I also be able to use it at the same time in the
same PC as my Multiface/card combo? For example, if I had my
multiface full up reacording with all 8 inputs, could I use the
inputs on the Emu card at the same time if I needed a couple
more in's? I've never run two cards before, so I don't know if
this would work.
For that matter, if I was using the Multiface as my main
interface/card, regardless of whether or not I wanted to use
the Emu card for more inputs as mentioned above, could I still
access the EFX on the Emu card & use them as plugins?
NeilThanks D, I figured tghere was no work around to the fact that the drum tracks
would need to be copied. This is sort of the same deal we tralked about 2
weeks ago regarding using the EDS comp in the aux.
I'll have to check out that compressor you mention. or get another EDS card.

>Neil,
I looked into this scenario. You're using Cubase SX right? It will only
recognize one audio driver, so you could do either/or, *if* the EMU and RME
drivers will play nice in the same rig. Also, the E-MU hardware has
absolutely no sync capabilities other than smpte or midi. Maybe not a big
deal to some, but a deal killer for me. I have heard reports that the ADAT
output of the E-MU is not *true* lightpipe and therefore doesn't always lock
up reliably when sending 8 channel digital data, so this might, or might not
work just as a standalone interface using only the software control panel to
route analog signals directly to the ADAT outs of the E-MU card and then
stream them to the ADAT input of the RME card running Cubase SX. I assuming
that this *might be the case if the situation was reversed and the E-MU card
was being used by Sx and the Multiface was your standalone.....but I really
haven't figured out how to use the Totalmix software to route signals
without using Cubase SX as the middle man anyway.

They're built in a form of the same way as the UAD-1 plugs, digital analyzes
of old analog gears in the top class. http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/aclm.php

the montage window to crossfade from one file to another. The CD
markers can be laid where ever you need them, including in the middle
of audio. If you are looking to lay markers out of sequence then no,
it can't do that. Once you get a handle on it, the montage window is
really very fast for this sort of thing.

Can some one tel me please how i get the Presets from UAD-1 Plug-ins In Paris
3.0?
Thanks! Many years ago (May of 2001) I downloaded the Mac version of Paris 3.0 and
never obtained the CD containing the PC as well as the Mac version of Paris
software. I'm now considering buying a new PC to use with my Paris rig (MEC,
EDS card, Control 16 and 3.0 software). Anyone know how I might go about
getting the PC version of the Paris 3.0 software? (I still have the order
number, key number, and response code for my internet purchase of the Paris
3.0 upgrade.)
Many thanks,
Richard FaylorI have a very dense song with many many audio files.
In this folder there are also files not needed.
I would like to be able to make a new directory with only the working files
but this should be something that Paris should do. I don't know which files
are actually used, well ,I can see them by selecting "unused" but there are
tons of them. Can Paris do that ?
Regards,
Dimitrioshttp://www.emu.com
go to support, digital audio, legacy systems, Paris Pro, software and
manuals.. etc....
That being said, don't count on your current key to work, when you change
systems you change challenge / response and still have to wait on ID to get
back to you... unless you were to find an alternative method of dealing with
PACE.

hate it when you buy something, and the new and improved model comes out the
next week. I've been looking at the new G5's, but sure as shit if I buy one,
next week Apple will start shipping the new Intel Macs at 4 GHz or some
such. I will admit that Apple has had a less than stellar reputation for
taking care of the customer. I would have a bad taste in mouth if I were in
your shoes also. Like I say, my system isn't the fastest Mac out there, but
it does what I need at the moment and I'm just gonna leave it be. I just
bought a Power Book with Tiger installed. Hopefully MOTU will get DP updated
soon so I can switch it over and dedicate the old G4 to PARIS only. Until
then, it's still dual boot for me.

>Hi Guys & Gals,
How is everyone implementing Serial ATA drives into their multi-card PAris
PC/Mac..
I recently purchased 2-300gig(16meg cache)serial ata drives on my Asus A7n8xE-Deluxe
However, on this resides 4 EDS cards..Now, The EDS's are now in a war with
the Serial Ata drivers..
Very bad.. Both are fighting over PCI bandwidth..
Any work arounds?? I though about getting into a Magna Chasis to aleviate
this problem..Yes/No?? Thanks?Aaron,
I pulled the card and sent it back to the party I bought it from and they
are sending me another one to replace it. When the new card arrives I will
see if I have the same problem. Will keep ya'll informed when I try to get
the system up again.
Thanks for the reply

This is exactly what I want to do.
Not out of sequence, just more optiions than say a Roxio with 2 second or
3 or whatever they allow so I have an accurate sequencing to give to a mastering
guy to follow..also so we can test drive the sequence for a week or so.
That is great of WL Essentials will do it. The Steinberg guy said no, but
he may have misunderstood me. He siad I needed the full version for that!
So UAD plugs are also ok in WL E?

I can't see why there would be more data on the bus than there would be with
IDE. As I understand it's the same protocol etc, so data throughput should
be the same as standard IDE.
Also, depending on your MB chipset, many new chipsets don't shove everything
down the PCI bus, but deal with things straight from the chipset to the SATA
ports. This is obviously ideal as it not only clears up the PCI bus, but
also allows quicker transfer of data to and from the SATA ports because they
don't rely on the limited PCI bandwidth. Indeed, if I'm not mistaken, that
MB has a NVidia chipset, and I was under the impression that all the NVidia
chipsets did this. This is worth checking as it is possible that your fault
is elsewhere.
You're sure it's not an interrupt thing?
Cheers,
Kim.

Bootit up the first time, using the compatible with Microsoft's Fdisk
system, that's only giving 4 partitions on a harddisk, or using Bootit's own
system with up to 255 partitions on one harddisk. I don't know if this is
correct at all after reading this.

must choose which of those 255 partitions you can see for WinXP. You cannot
use FDISK, but even when you use BootIT to do your partitions, it doesn't
solve the fact that Windows is only programmed for having 4 partitions. Yes,
you can HAVE lots of partitions, but you can't SEE them all at once. You
can only see 4 from Windows. Hence you have to tell BootIT which 4 partitions
you want to see depending upon which OS you are booting.

active with WinXP at once, so you shouldn't see any other primary partitions
at all, the three others can then be logical partitions, just for working
stuff like PAF's, waves, etc etc. When changing over to another active,
primary WinXP, you should allways see the three, same logical partitions for
working materials. So logically, you can have "oceans" of primary partitions
hided, just to be called up with the manager when using Bootit's own system.
But you can only see the active WinXP partition and three logical partitions
at once. That's my understanding but I'm just thinking high here without any
knowings....
