Hi everyone,

I am actually working with an Interface 442, one EDS card and a Control 16.

I'd really like to extend my system to another EDS card with a Control 16.
I could work on 32 tracks and it would be just perfect.

The question n•1 is : is it possible to run 2 eds cards with only a interface 442 ?
Or do I have to look after a Mec ?

The question n•2 is : can a Mec and a 442 be linked and work together ? (So that I would have 8i/o) don't think it would but I have to ask Smile

For the story :
I am currenltly student in an audio school, so we are Protoolised each day (I bet you knew) but, after 10 years working with Paris, it takes me 1 hour to have a "cool roughmix" with Ensoniq Paris, and 6 hours to have a "cool not even better roughmix" in PT with all the Fu..in great UAD plugs.. So ! It's cheaper, it's easier, it works better, I just need more faders !! Help Smile

Cheers
E

Hi There.
I just tried to post a detailed reply to your post, only to have it lost, because the forum bumped me off after about 20 minutes.

In a nutshell, You are onto something.
Paris has some mojo going on that makes it easy as hell to get good sounding mixes, even rough ones.

Your best bet is to get yourself a Mec, and a second EDS card.
Yes, you can have a 32 track mixing environment with two EDS's and an IF442, but you cannot run a MEC and an IF442 together on a single EDS card.

A MEC with one 8 input card will give you 12 recordable tracks on your first EDS, and your IF442 will give you an extra four recordable tracks on your second submix/EDS.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Hello Kim,

Cool !
I'm quiet sure I'll follow your advise with a MEC and a second EDS card. At last it will be the easiest way to enjoy PARIS and it's best.

Thank you a lot !

Best

Emma
Very Happy
