Ok, so if i wanted or needed rather..to upgrade my chipset on this MB
to a texas instruments chipset...how would i go about doing that and
make sure I pick the correct chipset?

Chipsets are fixed and not replaceable/upgradable on a MB.

upgrad to an NForce chipset from a VIA.

sounds like you mean a FIREWIRE chipset. It'll cost you a PCI slot. Go to
www.SYBA.com and get the firewire PCI expansion card with a TI chipset on
it. Go into the BIOS on your mobo before you install this card, and shut off
the mobo's firewire.
